Claudio Ruz Gutiérrez is CEO of the Mexico team for Expand 2 Mexico promoting trade and attracting investments from North America. He worked as an advisor on international affairs and foreign investment promotion during the first Democratic Government of Mexico City from 1997 to 2000, was Executive Director of the Advisory Council for Economic Development of the State of Michoacán from 2002 to 2008 and served as General Director for International Affairs and Economic Promotion of the Government of Mexico City from 2012 to 2018. He was also an advisor on international affairs, geopolitics, and national security in the Coordination of Advisors to the Presidency of the Republic of Mexico from 2018 to 2020. Claudio most recently served as Director for External Security Affairs and New Threats in the Technical Secretariat of the National Security Council, Office of the Presidency of the Republic from 2020 to February 15, 2023.

José María San Juan is the Chief Economist for Expand 2 Mexico. He has more than 17 years of professional experience in financial planning, strategic planning, business intelligence, and foreign trade in both the public and private sectors. He has held various positions in institutions and companies such as PepsiCo, Bancomext (Mexican Foreign Trade Bank), ProMéxico, MVS Multivisión, and EDF (Electricité de France), among others. At Bancomext, he served as Chief Economist, in charge of analyzing business opportunities for the institution in the sectors with the greatest impact on national economic development, as well as business linkage focused on supplier development. At ProMéxico, he oversaw establishing the Business Intelligence Unit, responsible for developing Mexico's Promotion Strategy abroad, including Business Opportunity Detection Analysis, and the development of materials for the country's positioning abroad. He is part of the mentor network of New Ventures, advising startups with social and environmental impact approaches. He earned a master’s degree in international business from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Juan Ochoa currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Miramar Group, a Mechanical and Facilities Management Firm, with a footprint in 8 states. Ochoa was previously the Chief Executive Officer for the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Owner operator of our Nation’s largest convention center McCormick Place and Navy Pier the Midwest most visited tourist destination. Prior to joining the MPEA, Ochoa served as the President and CEO of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) Ochoa transformed the Mexican American Chamber of Commerce, a little-known organization into the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, growing its membership and budget by over 1500%. Ochoa has government, not for profit and corporate board experience. Ochoa earned a BA from NEIU in Applied Politics. Juan Ochoa served as a machine gunner in the US Marine Corps and is a combat action veteran. 

Marisol Obregón Álvarez is Chief of Researchfor Expand 2 Mexico. She has worked as an advisor on international affairs and investment promotion for the Secretary of Economic Development of Mexico City and Coordinator of International Affairs for the same Secretariat from 2014 to 2018. She also served as Technical Advisor and Support for the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit from 2018 to 2023. 

 Guillermo Gonzalez King is Senior Regulatory Advisor for Expand 2 Mexico. He oversaw inter-institutional linkage as well as the coordination and management of foreign investment projects in the country's strategic sectors at ProMéxico from 2010 to 2014. He was Executive Director of MexicoIT, a program for positioning the country's "brand" in the Information Technology sector, with Mexico being one of the five most important global providers of IT services, from 2014 to 2017. Most recently, Guillermo serves as Director General of AMPROFON, the organization that coordinates and defends the common rights and interests of the producers of phonograms and video grams in Mexico; 2017 to 2023.

Vanessa Tena is Director of Government Affairsfor Expand 2 Mexico. Internationalist with more than 10 years of experience in issues related to trade facilitation, free trade agreement negotiations, technical cooperation, and the representation of Mexico before international economic organizations. In the Ministry of Economy, she served as director for multilateral forums where she coordinated the work of Mexico before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC). In terms of free trade agreement negotiations, she coordinated the participation of the Mexican team in the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP) She also coordinated the participation of members of the Senate of the Republic in said negotiation rounds. 

Roberto López Vides was born in Morelia, Michoacan on July 20th 1963. He received his law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in 1987 and has since been focused to a legal practice in international law firms and the Mexican Government.

 As a private consultant he was part of the legal team that advised foreign clients in the privatization of public companies such as Telmex and Astilleros Unidos de Veracruz. Also, he has advised foreign investors in the incorporation of Mexican subsidiaries and helping them in their day to day corporate and real estate matters. 

As a public servant he advised the Commissioner of the Mexican Revenue Service (SAT) in Civil and Commercial matters. He currently acts as an advisor to a Justice in the Supreme Court of Mexico.

 His career as a public servant also includes acting as in house counsel to FONATUR, a Mexican government trust for the development of tourist resorts and Director General to a government Construction Company, also in the tourist development sector (FONATUR Constructora).

 He is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
