Claudio Ruz Gutiérrez is CEO of the Mexico team for Expand 2 Mexico promoting trade and attracting investments from North America. He worked as an advisor on international affairs and foreign investment promotion during the first Democratic Government of Mexico City from 1997 to 2000, was Executive Director of the Advisory Council for Economic Development of the State of Michoacán from 2002 to 2008 and served as General Director for International Affairs and Economic Promotion of the Government of Mexico City from 2012 to 2018. He was also an advisor on international affairs, geopolitics, and national security in the Coordination of Advisors to the Presidency of the Republic of Mexico from 2018 to 2020. Claudio most recently served as Director for External Security Affairs and New Threats in the Technical Secretariat of the National Security Council, Office of the Presidency of the Republic from 2020 to February 15, 2023.

He has more than 17 years of professional experience in financial planning, strategic planning, business intelligence, and foreign trade in both the public and private sectors. He has held various positions in institutions and companies such as PepsiCo, Bancomext (Mexican Foreign Trade Bank), ProMéxico, MVS Multivisión, and EDF (Electricité de France), among others. At Bancomext, he served as Chief Economist, in charge of analyzing business opportunities for the institution in the sectors with the greatest impact on national economic development, as well as business linkage focused on supplier development. At ProMéxico, he oversaw establishing the Business Intelligence Unit, responsible for developing Mexico's Promotion Strategy abroad, including Business Opportunity Detection Analysis, and the development of materials for the country's positioning abroad. He is part of the mentor network of New Ventures, advising startups with social and environmental impact approaches. He earned a master’s degree in international business from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Roberto López Vides was born in Morelia, Michoacan on July 20th 1963. He received his law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in 1987 and has since been focused to a legal practice in international law firms and the Mexican Government.
As a private consultant he was part of the legal team that advised foreign clients in the privatization of public companies such as Telmex and Astilleros Unidos de Veracruz. Also, he has advised foreign investors in the incorporation of Mexican subsidiaries and helping them in their day to day corporate and real estate matters.
As a public servant he advised the Commissioner of the Mexican Revenue Service (SAT) in Civil and Commercial matters. He currently acts as an advisor to a Justice in the Supreme Court of Mexico.
His career as a public servant also includes acting as in house counsel to FONATUR, a Mexican government trust for the development of tourist resorts and Director General to a government Construction Company, also in the tourist development sector (FONATUR Constructora).
He is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
